BETTER COMMISSION FOR TOP
NEWSAGENTS IN 2011
2010 will go down as the year
Connections with ACP Magazines gave
newsagents the opportunity to improve
their bottom line through the Growth
Launched at the 10th
Connections Conference in Fiji, the
Growth Reward Program was developed
to reward newsagents who grow their
yearly sales with better commission
rates. This innovative program
represents a radical change, not only
to the newsagency channel, but to
newsagents’ business potential. It sets
a new, much-needed benchmark of
support for newsagents coping with a
Julie Green, National Channel
Manager–Newsagents for ACP, believes
“the program heralds a new era of
partnership between ACP Magazines
and newsagents. ACP is once again
leading the way, listening to newsagents
and working with them to drive the
profitability of the magazine category. I ’m
very excited about this initiative and look
forward to working even more closely
with proactive agents. ”
How does the Growth Reward
The Growth Reward Program is a
Connections-exclusive initiative set
up to reward newsagents who achieve
year-on-year sales growth with higher
commissions in the form of biannual
payments. Newsagents receive monthly
sales results information to assist them
with monitoring targets and goal setting.
Getting the most out of the Growth
At minimum, newsagents should revisit
the basics if they want to achieve more
sales and better commission through the
Growth Reward Program.
• Look at weekly title placement for
maximum impulse opportunities
• Explore driving sales for other ACP
Magazines titles, not just titles selected
for Connections weekly promotions
• Ensure relevant, fresh titles are
displayed on Monday, Wednesday and
• Maximise impulse purchase
opportunities through new fixtures
such as counter units and basket
• Leverage your subagency network to
maximise title sales
• Boost your store’s browse ability
with better lighting, tidy stock and
Connections also continues to support
members by providing access to a suite
of Business Builders and marketing tools
to help newsagents rev up their revenue.
With the rewards there for the taking,
and the materials to support it, it is up
to newsagents to set their stores up for
positive growth by setting sales targets
and building marketing strategies into
their business plans.
Connections is proud to support the
newsagency channel with new initiatives.
With an exciting magazine launch in
February, a brand new website on the
horizon and Connections official 10th
birthday in May, there are plenty of
great reasons to join the program that
supports newsagents and enjoy the
initiatives and rewards.

The Connections program
is a wonderful business

in the program for a
number of years and have
seen significant growth
attributed directly to
fantastic weekly promotions
that are professionally
organised and fun to do. It
is the only program I know
that is designed to promote
and help grow our business
and to top it off is backed
by a very professional and
